Doing Vintage Right!
Honestly, sometimes I feel a little costume-y when I wear vintage clothes. Psychedelic 1960’s patterns and high necklines can be the upitome of costume! But then, I browse through flickr and blogs and see girls wearing flowy vintage dresses and big 50’s skirts and I want to run out and put on crinolines and dresses and not care what anyone thinks! These girls know how to make vintage...
A Day at the Races
When I lived in San Diego, going to the races at Del Mar was a staple summer activity. Going to the races is even a bit sentimental to me, as it was one of Bf and my earliest adventures together. Ever since I moved to Seattle, I have been meaning to make a trip to the races at Emerald Downs. Two years later and we were finally able to make it out on Sunday with some friends!
The horses are my...

It's Blueberry Season!
Last night, I decided to whip up a batch of good old fashioned blueberry muffins from my 1963 Joy of Cooking (have I told you how much I love this edition???). I bought 4 lbs of blueberries at Safeway the other day because they were cheap and in season, so I needed to do SOMETHING with them.
Here is Irma’s recipe (I edited it a bit to make it more relevant/shorter):

A Concert on a Weeknight?!
It probably is no surprise to anyone who knows me IRL that I am an old lady. I like to eat dinner when I get home around 5, I take my shower around 10, brush my cat and am in bed by 11 pm. NO EXCEPTIONS. So when one of my favs, Langhorne Slim, was playing a show at Neumos on a Wednesday, I was like, sign me up….wait a second…no, sign me up!
(If you have not heard of Langhorne...

Weekend Scenes.
On Friday night, we cleaned ourselves up and ate a delicious dinner at Lola of white wine, red pepper hummus, warm pita, watermelon and feta salad, grilled haloumi and fig skewers and chickpea fries. Then, we did a photo shoot on my balcony among my plants. Don’t my plants look sexy? Topped the night off with Cherry Garcia fro yo and Jersey Shore.
(Thanks for the shoe-borrow, Sarah!)

Happy Monday! I hope your Monday is turning out better than mine!
I am happy to announce a little side project of mine….I am a Seattle Healthy Living Examiner at Examiner.com!
I signed up for a couple reasons. I wanted to work on my writing skills and I felt it was a great way to write about something I enjoy and am working towards daily (healthy living!).
I have already written 5...
